उसके चारों ओर समुद्र के समान चौड़ी और अथाह जल से भरी खाइयाँ थीं, जो उस नगर की शोभा बढ़ा रही थीं। श्वेत मेघों और चन्द्रमा के समान चमकती हुई वह चारदीवारी, जो अपनी ऊँचाई से आकाश को ढँककर खड़ी थी, उस शोभा में और भी वृद्धि कर रही थी। जिस प्रकार भोगवती सर्पों से सुशोभित है, उसी प्रकार वह उत्तम नगरी, खाई सहित, उस चारदीवारी से सुशोभित हो रही थी।
All around it, there were moats as wide as the sea and filled with unfathomable water, which were enhancing the beauty of that city. The boundary wall, bright like white clouds and the moon, was adding to the beauty, which stood there, covering the sky with its height. Just as Bhogavati is adorned with snakes, in the same way that excellent city along with the moat was being adorned by that boundary wall.
