चैत्र रथपर्व में अर्जुन ने गंगा के तट पर गंधर्व अंगारपर्ण को परास्त करके उससे मित्रता की और उसके मुख से तपती, वशिष्ठ तथा और्व की महान कथाएँ सुनीं। तत्पश्चात अर्जुन अपने सभी भाइयों के साथ वहाँ से पांचाल की ओर चल पड़े। तत्पश्चात अर्जुन ने पांचाल के महान राजाओं के दरबार में बाण चलाकर द्रौपदी को प्राप्त किया - यह कथा भी इसी पर्व में वर्णित है। वहाँ भीमसेन और अर्जुन ने युद्धभूमि में युद्ध के लिए तैयार क्रोधित राजाओं को तथा शल्य और कर्ण को भी अपने पराक्रम से परास्त किया। 111-114
In the Chaitra Ratha festival, Arjuna defeated the Gandharva Angaraparna on the banks of the Ganges and befriended him and heard the great stories of Tapati, Vasishtha and Aurva from his mouth. Then Arjuna travelled from there to Panchala with all his brothers. Thereafter Arjuna shot the target in the court of the great kings of Panchala and obtained Draupadi - this story is also mentioned in this festival. There Bhimasena and Arjuna defeated the angry kings who were ready for the battle in the battlefield and also Shalya and Karna with their valour. 111-114.
