जब अग्नि, चन्द्रमा और सूर्य से भी अधिक तेजस्वी सूर्यपुत्र कर्ण द्रौपदी पर मोहित होकर लक्ष्य भेदन का संकल्प करके खड़ा हुआ, तब उसे देखकर महाधनुर्धर पाण्डवों को विश्वास हो गया कि अब वह इस उत्तम लक्ष्य को भेदकर पृथ्वी पर गिरा देगा॥ 22॥
When the son of Sun, Karna, who was more radiant than the fire, the moon and the sun, being infatuated with Draupadi, stood up with the resolve to pierce the target, the great archer Pandavas, on seeing him, were confident that now he would pierce this excellent target and bring it down to the earth.॥ 22॥
