द्रोणाचार्य बोले- हे राजन! मैं अब भी आपसे मित्रता का अनुरोध करता हूँ। यज्ञसेन! आपने कहा था कि जो राजा नहीं है, वह राजा का मित्र नहीं हो सकता; इसलिए मैंने राज्य प्राप्ति हेतु आपसे युद्ध करने का प्रयत्न किया है। आप गंगा के दक्षिणी तट के राजा होंगे और मैं उत्तरी तट का राजा रहूँगा।
Dronacharya said— O King! I still request you for friendship. Yajnasen! You had said that one who is not a king cannot be a friend of a king; hence I have tried to fight with you to gain the kingdom. You will be the king of the southern bank of the Ganga and I will be the king of the northern bank.
