उस समय महाज्ञानी विदुर आदि कुरुकुल के अन्य महापुरुष तथा प्राचीन लोग शोक से भयभीत होकर पुरुषोत्तम पाण्डवों का पीछा करने लगे। तब कुछ निर्भय ब्राह्मण पाण्डवों को ऐसी दीन दशा में देखकर अत्यन्त दुःखी हुए और इस प्रकार बोले - 5-6॥
At that time, the great wise Vidur and other great men of Kurukula and the ancient people, frightened with grief, started following the best of men, the Pandavas. Then some fearless Brahmins were very sad to see the Pandavas in such a poor condition and said thus - 5-6॥
