वैशम्पायन जी कहते हैं - हे शत्रुओं को पीड़ा देने वाले राजा जनमेजय! गुरु के वचन सुनकर सभी कौरव चुप हो गए; किन्तु अर्जुन ने कार्य पूरा करने की प्रतिज्ञा की।
Vaishmpayana says - O King Janamejaya, who torments his enemies! On hearing the words of his teacher, all the Kauravas remained silent; but Arjuna took a vow to complete the task.
