अब छह प्रकार के अनाबन्धित पुत्र कहे जाते हैं - दत्त (जिसे माता-पिता ने स्वयं समर्पित किया हो), कृत (जिसे धन आदि देकर खरीदा गया हो), आर्तिक - जो यह कहकर पास आया हो कि मैं ही आपका पुत्र हूँ, सहोध (कन्या रहते हुए गर्भवती हुई स्त्री के गर्भ से उत्पन्न पुत्र को सहोध कहते हैं), ज्ञानतीरेता (अपने ही कुल का पुत्र) और अपने से निम्न कुल की स्त्री के गर्भ से उत्पन्न पुत्र। ये सब जड़ हैं। 34॥
