“जब कृष्ण के प्रति आनंदित भावना का बीज फलित होता है, तो व्यक्ति के व्यवहार में निम्नलिखित नौ लक्षण प्रकट होते हैं: क्षमा, समय की बर्बादी न हो, वैराग्य, झूठी प्रतिष्ठा का अभाव, आशा, उत्सुकता, भगवान के पवित्र नाम के कीर्तन में रुचि, भगवान के दिव्य गुणों के वर्णन के प्रति आसक्ति, और उन स्थानों के प्रति स्नेह जहाँ भगवान निवास करते हैं - अर्थात, एक मंदिर या वृंदावन जैसा कोई पवित्र स्थान। ये सभी अनुभव कहलाते हैं, आनंदित भावना के गौण लक्षण। ये उस व्यक्ति में दिखाई देते हैं जिसके हृदय में भगवान के प्रति प्रेम का बीज फलित होने लगा है।’
“When the seed of devotion for Krishna germinates, nine characteristics appear in a person's nature. These are forgiveness, vigilance against wasting time, detachment, absence of false pride, hope, eagerness, a penchant for chanting the Lord's holy name, a fondness for descriptions of the Lord's transcendental qualities, and affection for the Lord's abodes, such as temples or pilgrimage sites like Vrindavan. These are called anubhava, or secondary characteristics of intense devotion. All these anubhavas are visible in the heart of the person in whom love for the Lord has begun to germinate.”
