चूँकि कुष्ठ रोग एक संक्रामक रोग है, गोपाल चापाल गाँव छोड़कर गंगा तट पर एक वृक्ष के नीचे बैठ गए। एक दिन, उन्होंने चैतन्य महाप्रभु को वहाँ से गुजरते देखा और उनसे इस प्रकार बोले।
