रौद्राश्व के दस पुत्र थे, जिनके नाम ऋतेयु, कक्षेयु, स्थण्डिलेयु, कृतेयुक, जलेयु, सन्नतेयु, धर्मेयु, सत्येयु, व्रतेयु और वनेयु थे। इन दसों में वनेयु सबसे छोटा था। विश्वात्मा से उत्पन्न दसों इन्द्रियाँ प्राण के नियंत्रण में कार्य करती हैं, उसी तरह ये दसों पुत्र रौद्राश्व के पूर्ण नियंत्रण में कार्य करते थे। ये सभी घृताची नामक अप्सरा से उत्पन्न हुए थे।
Roudrashva had ten sons whose names were Riteyu, Kaksheyu, Sthandileyu, Kriteyuk, Jaleyu, Sannateyu, Dharmeyu, Satyeyu, Vrateyu and Vaneyu. Vaneyu was the youngest among these ten. These ten sons worked under the complete control of Rudrashva in the same way as the ten senses originating from the Universal Soul work under the control of Prana. All of them were born from an Apsara named Ghritachi.
