[शाल्मलीद्वीप के रहने वाले चन्द्र देवता की आराधना इन शब्दों से करते हैं।] चन्द्र देवता ने अपनी किरणों से महीने को दो पक्षों, शुक्ल और कृष्ण में विभाजित कर दिया है ताकि पितरों और देवताओं को भोजन वितरित किया जा सके। चन्द्र देव समय को विभाजित करने वाले और ब्रह्माण्ड के निवासियों के राजा हैं। इसलिए हम प्रार्थना करते हैं कि वह हमारे राजा और मार्गदर्शक बने रहें, और हम उन्हें सम्मानपूर्वक प्रणाम करते हैं।
[The inhabitants of Shalmali island worship the Moon God with the following words.] For the purpose of providing food to the ancestors and the gods, the Moon God has divided the month into two fortnights called Shukla and Krishna with his own rays. The Moon God is the divider of time and the ruler of the inhabitants of the universe. Therefore, we pray that he remains our ruler and guide. We offer our respectful obeisances to him.
