Reflecting upon his grave offense and anxious about the possibility of a conflict with the Lord's powerful devotees, King Satrājit thought, “How can I wash away my sin myself and please Lord Acyuta? What can I do to regain my good fortune? How can I avoid being cursed by the people for being lacking foresight, miserly, foolish and greedy? I will offer my daughter, who is the jewel of all women, to the Lord along with the Syamantaka jewel. This is undoubtedly the only proper way to pacify Him.”
