अपनी आँखों से ज़हरीले कीचड़ को निकालते हुए कालिया गुस्से में मचलता हुआ गर्जता था और हिम्मत करके कभी-कभार अपने एक सिर को ऊपर उठाता था। तब भगवान उसपर नाचने लगते और उसे उठाकर अपने पैरों तले दबा देते। देवताओं ने इस अवसर का लाभ उठाकर आदि पुरुष भगवान की पूजा करना आरंभ कर दिया। वे भगवान पर फूलों की वर्षा कर रहे थे।
Kaliya, while spitting poisonous sludge from his eyes, would hiss angrily and dare to raise one of his heads from time to time. Then the Lord would dance on him and crush him by pinning him down with His feet. The gods considered all these demonstrations to be a suitable opportunity and worshipped the primal man by showering flowers.
