सद्-वेष-मात्रेण हि बाल-घातिनीं
तां राक्षसीं मातृ-गतिं निनाय सः
तद्-बान्धवान् मुक्तिम् अघासुरादिकान्
साधु-द्रुहस् तादृश-लीलयानयत् |

| केवल इसलिए कि बाल-हत्यारी राक्षसी पूतना ने एक पूजनीय व्यक्ति का वेश धारण किया था, भगवान ने उसे अपनी माता का पद प्रदान किया। इसी प्रकार की लीलाओं द्वारा उन्होंने उसके परिवार के सदस्यों—अघासुर आदि—को भी मुक्ति प्रदान की, भले ही वे धर्मपरायण भक्तों के शत्रु थे। |
